The Types of Wines for your Collection

     An individual should buy,collect and store wine based on his desired taste.

      Storing Red Wines

     When red wine aged their colour change from purple to red , its aroma became more complex and its aroma become less fruity ( lost its fruit flavour ).Overall , the taste become more softer and smoother as the wine taste remain longer in your mouth.

     Examples of Red Wine that can be kept for long are :

     Opening these wines after a decade of wait is the most exiciting to wine collectors as factors such as time , conditioning , quality of wine ( vintage and producers ) will affect the wine maturity rate. It is even more challenging since the taste of wine is subjective to each individual and only through experimenting will you only find the correct type of wine for your own consumption

     Storing White Wine

     Lesser variety of white wines can be kept for long.White wines are more sensitive in nature and they need good storage and conditioning.

     White wines that can be kept longer are generally more expensive then red wines due to rarity.

     Storing Sweet Wines

     As sugar is already a preservative in the wine . These wine when ages may be high in its fruit flavours and also in alchol level. However most of these sweet wines are meant to be drank early.       


     Bare in mind that some types of wines are not meant to be kept for long . These wines are meant for early drinking ( within 1 year from production). Example of such wines are some varieties of Pinot Noir and Merlot. On the other hand, some wines does not improve with age. If a red wine is aged for far too long it will turn into vinegar.
